Introduction
What is Heaven? It is indescribable — beyond description.
- Heaven is the eternal abode of God Almighty (the Trinity) and all the host of heaven.
- Heaven is a place that is incomparable with any good place you have seen in this world.
- Heaven is a place where the streets are made of pure gold.
- Heaven is a place where a house is big enough to contain mansions.
- Heaven is a place of eternal peace and rest.
- Heaven is a place where there is no night. It is daylight all along and does not need the sun. The Bible says that the glory of God is the light.
- Heaven is a place of continuous singing, praise and worship.
- Heaven is the final home of the triumphant believers.

Main Points
Preparation for Heaven at Last — 1Cor 15:35-49
- By sowing (seed) V.36 — We must sow our lives for it to be made alive.
- By dying (self) V.37 — We must die to self. Apostle Paul said, I die daily. 1Cor 15:31
- By accepting the workings of God (salvation) V.38 — Except a man be born again he cannot see or enter the kingdom of God. Jn 3:3 & 7
- By understanding the classes of bodies that exist (selection) V.39-40 — You as a man are not the same as animals. You are a spirit, you have a soul and you live in the body. 1Thess 5:23. Animals do not have a spirit, but only man. Gen 2:7. It is the spirit that gives life. 2Cor 3:6. Adam is a living soul but Jesus is a quickening Spirit. 1Cor 15:45. Understanding this difference, you need to make a selection in preparation for Heaven between the celestial and the terrestrial body.
- By understanding the degrees of glory to come (separation) V.40-41 — God will make a separation between those that serve him and those that serve him not. Exd 11:7. We must choose the highest glory, which is the glory of God. Jn 17:5, 22 & 24
- By walking in divine transformation (supernatural) V.42-44 — Having been partakers of his death, baptism and resurrection, we must walk in newness of life. Rom 6:4. We are transformed daily by the renewing of our minds. Rom 12:1-2
- By understanding our spiritual history and future (superiority of the spiritual) V.45-49 — If you don’t understand where you are coming from, it will be difficult to fully appreciate where you are or where you are going. This is what David understood that made him appreciate his position as the King of Israel. Psa 78:70-72, 2Sam 7:18-29. “For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light.” Eph 5:8. “For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called.” 1Cor 1:26. Paul said, I am what I am by the grace of God — so be humble!
Final Process for Heaven at Last — 1Cor 15:50-57
- Removal of the things that cannot inherit Heaven (the Kingdom of God’s holiness) V.50-56, e.g. the flesh, corruption, the corruptible, sin, mortality, failure. All that is in the world is the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life. 1Jn 2:16-17. Walk in the spirit and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Gal 5:16
- Altering supernatural change (resurrection) V.51-53 — We must ensure by all means that we do not miss the first resurrection at the Rapture. Please note that this is a mystery. 1Cor 15:31, Eph 5:30-32
- Final victory level, or Heaven at Last (glorious arrival in Heaven) — It is then you can say boldly that death is swallowed up in victory: O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory? You will shout on that day with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Heaven at Last!
Conclusion
Here is the final admonition:
- Be steadfast — constant, firm and unwavering in your faith.
- Be unmovable — do not be moved by what you see or hear.
- Always abound in the work of God. Paul said, I laboured more than they all. 1Cor 15:10
- Have the right knowledge. Paul said, that I may know him. Phil 3:8-17
- Be rest assured that your reward is coming. He that comes to God must believe that he is, and that he is the rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Heb 11:6
